New Membrane Bioreactor Elevates Onsite Wastewater Industry January 3, 2006
SHAWNEE, KS—For the municipal and industrial water and wastewater industries, the term “membrane bioreactor or MBR” is nothing new. MBR technology has been available for a few decades and has developed into productive product lines for many companies. But for the onsite wastewater industry, the term is either unknown or connotes a level of operation and maintenance not practical for onsite applications. Bio-Microbics, Inc. hopes to dispel those thoughts with the introduction of the new BioBarrier™ MBR, a simple, low-maintenance membrane bioreactor designed specifically for unsewered residential development, commercial properties and onsite water reuse applications.
Together with affiliate Smith & Loveless, Inc., Bio-Microbics has developed the BioBarrier MBR as a pre-engineered, modular system that will ship installation-ready and fit easily into both new and existing onsite tank configurations. BioBarrier’s consistent, high-quality effluent provides new opportunities for onsite wastewater reuse techniques that can have dramatic, positive affects on water resources around the globe...[More]
Introducing BioSTEP®: A STEP UP for Small-Diameter Sewer Systems December 4, 2005
SHAWNEE, KS— After years of R&D testing and careful product packaging, Bio-Microbics, Inc. introduces the BioSTEP® screened pumping system, an affordable, low-maintenance pump package designed to transfer screened liquids in numerous small-diameter, decentralized collection applications.
Builders and developers directly benefit from the use of BioSTEP in low-lying areas, hilly terrain and areas with poor soil conditions or other geological limitations. Compared to conventional (centralized) sewers, alternative wastewater collection systems reduce excavation time, material requirements and construction costs, and provide innovative, sustainable solutions for new development.
When combined with advanced, onsite wastewater treatment systems, BioSTEP provides land developers with innovative, “sewer-like” transfer and treatment options. The wastewater from multiple homes, built on smaller, community-sized lots, can be effectively transferred and treated, while saving open green spaces for enhanced amenities and improved beautification...[More]
Bio-Microbics' New LIXOR® Submerged Aeration Device Adds More Than Just Air November 28, 2005
SHAWNEE–Bio-Microbics, Inc. recently introduced the LIXOR® submerged aeration system, a remarkably effective aeration device designed to provide aeration and mixing in a variety of wastewater applications. Low-cost pre-aeration, aeration, sweetening and mixing are just a few of LIXOR’s impressive list of potential uses.
Utilizing a Venturi-type diffuser, individual or multiple LIXORs may be used as part of your overall wastewater plant design to help achieve desired treatment goals. Each LIXOR system is easily installed into new or existing basins and is equipped with a reliable regenerative blower, the system’s only moving part. LIXORs add a new dimension of flexibility and performance in wastewater system design and upgrades...[More]
Bio-Microbics Expands Its Unique Line of SaniTEE® Wastewater Screens June 9, 2005
SHAWNEE, KS—Bio-Microbics, Inc. recently expanded its unique line of SaniTEE® Wastewater Screens to include 4 inch, 8 inch and 16 inch diameter screen sizes. SaniTEE screens now provide consistent retention of wastewater solids for flows up to 12,000 GPD (per individual screen), while maintaining the unique self-cleaning features of the original SaniTEE wastewater screen. Multiple screens can be used for larger flows.
All SaniTEEs reduce TSS and larger solids discharged in septic tank effluent by promoting natural settling (attenuating surge flows), and by excluding gas lifted particles from entering the outlet pipe. Solids that do accumulate in SaniTEE’s patented angled slots are removed easily with a quick wipe of the internal and/or external cleaning swabs...[More]
