LIXOR® is a remarkably effective submerged aeration and mixing system. Wastewater Aeration 101
Aeration is the process of dissolving oxygen into water. In wastewater treatment, adequate aeration and mixing is a key component of successful system design. Dissolved oxygen enables aerobic bacteria and other microorganisms to quickly biodegrade and digest incoming organic matter, significantly reducing the concentration of pollutants in the wastewater.

Each LIXOR system is easily installed into new or existing basins and is equipped with a reliable regenerative blower, the system’s only moving part. How Does It Work?


1. When used in pre-aeration or suspended growth systems, the above-ground, regenerative blower(s) pumps large volumes of air down to the submerged LIXOR aeration and mixing diffuser(s).

2. LIXOR’s cleverly designed Venturi chamber breaks the incoming air stream into smaller size bubbles.

3. The velocity of air and water increase inside the chamber creating a vacuum that pulls in surrounding liquids.

4. The result is a turbulent plume of water and bubbles that travel up through the tank depth, transferring oxygen to the water and creating horizontal and vertical mixing patterns.
